Dust-free Air for Prestige Homemaker

Dust Pollution SystemsPemberton Leisure Homes of Wigan, started business in the late 1940s. Now one of the UK’s top ten manufacturers of luxury mobile and holiday homes, many of Pemberton’s prestige residences have complete central heating systems, double glazing, full size bathrooms and some even boast en-suite facilities. The company has developed a special reputation for building the largest and most luxurious models, backed by a three-year warranty.

As a major manufacture, Pemberton prides itself in ensuring that it, not only provides excellent working conditions, but meets and exceeds HSE and Department of Environment standards for the work place whilst achieving maximum high quality output. Earlier this year the company acquired a new high speed CNC router that would increase the volume of MDF dust produced. Consequently, to improve the efficiency of the existing wood machining equipment and meet the needs of new machinery, the company decided to install a new wood waste extraction system, able to cope with softwood, OSB, plywood, MFC and MDF. The new system was also to replace a collection of piecemeal systems including a cyclone together with one, three and four bag stand-alone units.

Pemberton investigated five potential suppliers and chose leading independent specialists Dust Pollution Systems (DPS). The new DPS system is designed to extract a wide range of waste material including chips and mixed dust.

DPS were chosen because of their professional approach
A company spokesman commented that, ‘DPS were chosen because of their professional approach, realistic quotation, and the high specification of their system.’ The noticeable difference in the submission provided by DPS was, that it recommended a purpose built facility: one that provided the long term flexibility that Pemberton needed, not only to cater for existing production needs but also for the future. The installation of a DPS modular chain filter system, has achieved this and is easily and quickly enlarged. The new facility has an extraction rate of 13,000 CFM and this can be increased to 16,000 cfm without modification.

As part of a fully integrated and customer friendly process, DPS first installed the chain filter and then arranged to link-up machinery during the evening. This meant that each newly connected production cell was operational by the morning. During this process, DPS loaned Pemberton portable extraction systems to ensure that no production was lost. Pemberton were impressed with the efficiency of the DPS personnel who caused minimal disruption. This favourable impression has lead Pemberton to feel that they would have no hesitation in recommending DPS to other trade acquaintances. Since its commissioning, the new DPS extraction plant has met the original specifications and improved the company’s operating efficiency, working conditions and general environment.
