New Woodwaste System at Desking Systems

Dust Pollution Systems (DPS) has a market leading profile for the reliability; flexibility and high quality build of its woodwaste handling and extraction systems. The company also has a reputation for its attention to detail in relation to design, performance and installation. It is understandable, therefore, why for so many expanding furniture and joinery companies, DPS is the first choice for their extraction plant.

This ability was recently proved at Desking Systems (Chalgrove), where DPS has installed a modular extraction plant. This DPS facility replaced an existing fixed-capacity plant, which was failing under the strain, with one, which was designed to be economically, easily and quickly expanded to meet future demand. The DPS waste extraction system consists of 12 modular chain filters and three top-inlet gravity separators with a capacity of 66,000 cfm. Expansion can be accomplished easily, simply by adding additional filter units because their modular design enables them to be combined without the need to scrap any exiting component.

Modular DPS chain filters provide easy expansion and considerable flexibility and they can be precisely matched to production requirements. DPS undertook the design, fabrication and installation of the enlarged system at Desking Systems. Careful planning enabled equipment to be linked to main ducting as work progressed.

Minimising Disruption
The installation of this new facility was undertaken during non-working hours, which DPS prefer. Because DPS chain filters are modular, they are simply linked, saving time, inconvenience and expenditure, whist minimising disruption to output.

DPS systems are designed to handle the large volumes of extracted waste material produced by today's high output machines. The company’s chain filters give excellent separation of air and waste and for minimum wear, each bank can be cleaned automatically by a regeneration fan, either on normal shutdown, or continuously.
